Studio 18 Manifesto

Born in 2018, Studio 18 started as a name of a room, but it quickly became the official name of our in-house summer camp content production team. Over time the culture of the team became more refined and the Studio 18 Manifesto was born. Studio 18 wanted to change the very definition of what summer camp media content could and should be. When team members come onboard they are bought into the Studio 18 purpose, mission and vision from the get go. We are truly obsessive about pushing the boundaries of summer camp media. This helps set us apart from any other business in our industry. We do not aim to compete, we are simply on an infinite pursuit to create better content than the summer before, and it’s 100% born from nothing but passion and our pathetic love of summer camp.

FAQs

  • Long and tiring! You’ll be out capturing new content and working on projects almost every single day. There is always something happening at camp and a lot of events require media to be there to capture it. It’s long days and nights but it’s 100% worth it to see how amazing your content becomes.

  • We shoot on Sony A7S and FX3 cameras, using a combination of Ronin stabilizers and Manfrotto tri-pods. We use Adobe Creative Cloud to edit our footage.

  • We’re looking for experienced videographers with a desire to create next-level content for Camp IHC.  You’ll need to understand how to shoot in S-Log, set up stabilizers, use different lenses and angles to set up a sequence of shots. You’ll have to have a strong understanding of Premiere Pro to build sequences, aspects ratios, sound, color and how to render and export footage for different platforms.

  • No. You’ll be assigned to a staff bunk. The staff bunk may be part of a campers bunk or division but no campers will live in that actual bunk. Due to the working hours that is required by videographers you won’t be asked to look after campers.

  • You will have one full day and night off each week. This is your chance to rest, recover and try some new things on camp and explore new places off camp with other staff.

  • We average about 5 projects a week, so around 35-50 projects in a summer. These will be a variety of projects like camp event videos like arrival day, visiting day, theatre shows, olympic events, general day to day videos. There will also be marketing videos and engaging documentaries.  Not only will you be a part of the team that assists with creating marketing videos and engaging documentaries, you will also be given space to showcase your fun and creative ideas.

The Best Summer of Your Life.
